Lessons on Grocery Shopping

The worst time to go grocery shopping is when an ice storm has been forecasted for the next day. On the way there I thought "I bet it will be busy" but that was such an understatement. I wish I had taken my camera to photograph the madness. Oh well, lesson learned and we won't procrastinate next time. Our cabinets are stocked, our gas heater still works, and I have 3 books waiting to be read so bring on the ice!

Good luck weathering the storm! I remember those days in Tulsa. We once lost power for a dozen days during a heavy ice storm. Lucky for us we had a floor heater that did not require electricity to operate, so we had plenty of heat. We brought out the Coleman stove to cook with in the Kitchen and burned candles and lanterns for light. It was a cozy time of our lives. I recall that the "in laws" were without power for over 20 days, but they had a gas fireplace. Later they hooked up a small gas powered generator and used it to run their central heat, a few lights, and the Microwave. Fun times! Enjoy!

I heard the stores were out of meat, milk and bread. seriously. what is wrong with this state? don't they know the weather will change in like 30 minutes? oh, and my favorite is when they tell us to fill up our cars but to not drive all in the same sentence...why do we need a full tank of gas when we aren't supposed to drive? As soon as the roads are clear, can't we get gas then? AAAHHHH...
