The joys of home ownership: The Cesspool

Our yard has been smelling AWFUL! It has smelled this way before and one time when Charlie's bone went over the fence, Ryan got it and commented our neighbor's yard reeked (the neighbor's that we don't know). Well it's gotten worse since then and Ryan noticed that we had gross sewage floating into our yard from their yard. Their yard now has toilet paper in the back. It's a rental property and there are 2 houses on it. I knocked on the door and tried to explain to the man (who spoke next to no English) the problem so I could get the landlord's number. He seemed to think he was coming soon to fix it and didn't give me a number and the other English speaking tenant wasn't home. We called the city and it's not their pipes so the homeowner has to fix it but they gave us a number to call if they don't. It's just nasty and Charlie can't play out there bc she will be covered in poo. I guess it won't harm our grass or anything since it's just human fertilizer, but in the meantime I can't enjoy our backyard bc it is a cesspool.

Did you know you can go on the county assessors web site and look up the house and it will tell you who the owner is.. so if you can't find the english speaking person you can at least find the name of the person in charge that way.
