Put Me In the Zoo

Ryan's company had a picnic/free admission day at the OKC zoo last weekend and of course we went. I love the zoo. It's been awhile since I have been and they have this whole new trail thing and bridge. They are trying to make it less depressing for the animals and I applaud that. My favorites of course are the gorillas and okapis. While we were there Ryan actually was attacked by some wildlife and thankfully for the blog I got it on film. This wild butterfly came out of nowhere and just landed on his back. I told him to be VERY still and I handled the situation. It was a close call. Most of you should have seen the Okapis in the news this week. They made headlines when they were finally captured on video in their natural habitat. I'd post the video but it's not exciting, just leaf munching. I don't know how many of you have seen a giant anteater but they are pretty crazy looking. This poor ostrich lost his legs. They should get it a skateboard like that cat with only 2 paws. These pretty kitties look like they have a case of the Mondays which was weird because this was taken on a Saturday. Cheer up kitties....it could be worse....you could be a rug.

yeah for the zoo.

good thing ryan had you near for that close encounter with the wildlife! it's the risk you take for seeing animals so up close and personal! :)

We tried to go to the zoo last week, but we got there a little after 10 and there was NO parking!! It was crazy, so we went to the mall instead. =( It looks like a great zoo in OKC, do they really let you get that close to the animals, or did you zoom?

Is that okapis for real? It looks like you photo shopped it. Glad you had fun. Has Ry taken you to the Portland zoo yet? We have a brand new baby elephant. Mom I

I didn't know anteaters were so hairy! Did you find out lots of stuff about Ryan's coworkers?

1. i love anteaters
2. did that ostrich really lost it legs? b/c if so , that is so sad, and he needs a longboard (katie, cmon, you're hip, youve got to know they are way cooler than skateboard, and more popular)
3. yeah cat, you could be a rug. sucker.
