Beards are the New Black

While I have sooo many people reading my blog this week, (serioulsy I had over 300 something hits the other day!) I feel the need to spread the new trend. Drum roll please......Facial hair! Well at least it's a trend among K-5th graders at our church...even on girls! But with all this free publicity maybe we can spread the trend further. Yesterday my tutoring kids were making faux mustaches and beards and taping them to their faces. They were CRACKING me up. I don't know where they get all their creativity, but it makes me laugh. I think next week I will show them this poster of facial hair styles so they can be even more creative. (click to enlarge) I think my favorite is the Hulihee and the French Fork. And the creator of this trendy poster has obviously caught on too. Beards are the new black! Go on now, spread the word!

Popped over from SITS. Congrats on the Saucy Blog.

I think I like the napoleon. The hulihee is what we call "pork chops" at our house.

Very cute! I love it when kids take the initiative to be creative instead of declaring everything "boring."

I had to look closer. My husband has the short boxed beard. I've only seen him once completely clean shaven. Thats only because he accidentally shaved his mustache a little to short! LOL!

Hi there, found you on SITS! Believe it or not, we stuck Scotch tape on our faces IN COLLEGE and then marked on them with Sharpies! We had bushy eyebrows, goatees, mustaches, soul patches, etc. And I wonder why I was single!

I can't seem to keep up with what's the new black these days. It seems like it changes to something different every day. I wonder if someday we will come full circle and black will be the new black.

p.s. Congrats on being saucy this week, SITStah!

Hi! This is probably going to be so random but I happened upon your blog first from tip junkie, then to The Secret is in the Sauce. I also live in OKC and go to Oakrest Church of Christ. I just thought it was neat that I found you. My blog is www.thompsonfamily.blogspot.com

I used to have a beard until it had more grey than any other color in it! The best thing about the beard was when I shaved it off, everyone said I looked so young. I'm half tempted to grow it back so I can shave it off and have everyone tell me how young I look again. Isn't that just awful? LOL

Oh wow, thank you thank you thank you! I almost left the house today with no beard! Oh just think of the scorn and looks of pitty I would recieve from people. I would have been a social outcast.

Thank you for saving my reputation and self worth!

I owe you one!

I'm just now getting around to checking out the saucy blogs. Congrats!

My son will be 18 in less than a week and has been shaving for five years. I think he's tried several of those beards! He loves having his facial hair.
