I'm not Super-stitious just a Little-stitious

I don't think I had heard that "Death comes in threes" until I worked at a church and let me tell you, it's something I'm starting to believe pretty firmly in. Ryan broke the news to me when he got home yesterday about Michael Jackson. I couldn't believe it. Yes he was a REALLY strange person and did some REALLY odd things, but when you realize how many people knew him and his music all over the world it's pretty crazy. I don't know why but it's really sad to me and I kind of can't believe it. I'm sure it will be all over the news...and it probably already is....and we will hear about it until we are all sick of it. It just seems so out of the blue. But now the "death triangle of 3" has been complete so we don't have to wonder who number 3 will be.

Anyway, sorry for the morbid post. Thanks soooo much for the HUNDREDS of comments you guys left me yesterday. They were so encouraging and I really needed encouragement this week! I'll try to keep upcoming posts more lighthearted and full of that sarcasm stuff and less about death. :)

Hey Katie and Ryan I missed yesterday too. So I wanted to congratulate you on being FB. I hoped your SITS day was great.

I have heard death comes in three my whole life - personal and celebrity. I have seen it too many times not to believe it.

I felt a loss for all of their deaths more so for Farrah and Michael. I always liked Farrah and am glad to know that she knew the Lord as her Savior. Hoping the Ed McMahon and Michael did too.

After I heard about Farrah and Michael yesterday all I could wonder was who was going to be the third. Cause they DO have to happen in 3s. And then I found out Ed had died the day before. So, we don't have to be glued to the boob tube today to see if Amy Winehouse's number was finally up...

I saw your blog on SITS. Congrats on being featured.

I write a blog to encourage MOMS in the fine art of Christian mothering. Sounds like you will soon be in that camp. I write Bible studies for MOMS. Stop by my site when you have a sec. I hope it will encourage your heart as you prepare to "raise up a child in the way he/she should go." Blessings.

I totally believe in the "it comes in 3's" thing. After I heard about Farrah Fawcett dying yesterday, I was thinking to myself "I wonder who #3 will be" and then my hubby called me (right after I'd heard about MJ) to tell me MJ had died and I told him what I'd been thinking earlier in the day. So crazy. Very sad!

Hello from SITS!

I missed you yesterday, though I'm guessing that it's still nice to have new comments a day after your SITS day. I really enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to reading more!

Sorry I missed your SITS feature!! Congrats!

Yes, the POwer of 3 still rings true! But it's strange because it only happens with "natural' deaths.

David Carradine died "unnaturally', and he was the only one to go!!

Weird...

Odd that you mention 3s. We were talking about it at work after Farrah died and everyone speculating who would be number 3. I was shocked when I heard who it was... the guess around the station was patrick swayze.

I missed SITS yesterday too, looks like you had a great turn out :)

In regards to dying in threes I whole heartedly believe that to be true - although sometimes there is a pattern - my personal set of 3 was within 2 months of each other. But I still feel it was a set of 3. It's erie.

My Dad is a Preacher and I remember when one person in the church or church community would die, two more would also die in that week. It is really strange, but I've seen it happen more than once. I was really sad to see Michael Jackson's death, and it's not because I was a fan of the person he was...but because his music is alot of people's childhood.

BTW, saw you on SITS & will definitely continue to come back to your blog :D Check mine out too?

You are so right about people all over the world knowing MJ and his music. The papers here in Norway has been filled with stuff about him every day since his death. And his songs are now being played all the time in the radio, again and again.
