Good-Bye Skylark

It was a bittersweet moment. We sold the 65 Buick Skylark.
(Or as our old state farm agent used to say, the Bruick)
My husband rebuilt this car with his dad when he was 15. When they got it out of a junk yard, a tree was growing through it. He had his senior photos with it. Ryan drove it in college and it's the car he took me on all of our dates in (well when it was running and not soaking wet from leaving the top down or stranded on the side of a road because it ran out of gas and he couldn't tell bc the gas gauge never worked). He drove it back and forth from Oregon to OKC a few times. He drove it after I wrecked the Honda until we bought a new car that Olivia could legally travel in. It was a great car to go to the drive in movies in. It was a great car to ride in with the top down on a sunny day. It was a great car for random thugs to shout offers at on the interstate. But it was time to see her go. We said our farewells and she is going to be fixed up and sold for lots more than what we got for her! But what we got is so much more than money....we now have an empty garage!! Oh the possibilities!!
Ryan's chomping at the bit to organize all those tools he inherited!
(this is Liv's expression to the air compressor)

I wonder if Ryan ever dreamed that he'd ever have such a cutie of his own, sitting on his trunk :-)
