Reasons I Love OKC...

The Myriad Gardens

The renovation of the Myriad Gardens is almost completely finished and to celebrate this they had a free "Festival on the Green" celebration all last Saturday.
The new awesome kids playground area was open, the fun water splash pad was on, there were performances all day, a farmers market was going on, the crystal bridge was free, the ducks were swimming and hungry for stale bread, and there was a free Pat Green concert in the evening!
We started off in the morning eating donuts listening to Spaghetti Eddie and the Story Time Lady from Full Circle.
Liv enjoyed her donuts.
We spent most of the day there catching various parts of all the fun and we even met up with a few friends.
The gardens were beautiful!
We went in the crystal bridge and listened to part of the tour guide's speech, but Olivia was too antsy to listen to horticultural talk so we toured the rest of it on our own.
Then we came back in the evening for the lighting of the crystal bridge.
It's pretty cool but you can't see it in the picture. I'm not sure if it will be lit like every night or not but it was pretty.
The concert was great! I'm not a huge Pat Green fan but I liked it!
When Liv wasn't clapping to the beat she was rolling down the grassy hills with her daddy trying to avoid rolling into the street! Here's a few videos I lumped together from the concert and lighting....
And some more videos of fountain playing and water splashing--mostly just for the grandparents viewing pleasure!

Katie, you really should work for the OKC chamber of commerce. You know how to sell a city. And this grandma thanks you profusely for the videos.

Seriously, where do you find all these fun events??? I can't wait until our Saturdays can be filled with fun things like this instead of deciding between Home Depot or Lowe's.

I really wanted to check it out, but have been afraid of crowds. It looks really awesome!
