Going Home

Ryan's Grandpa Butcher passed away this morning. He was truly a blessing to those who knew him and has desired more than anything to be with his Lord these last few months. We thank God for the example he was to others; the husband, father, and grandfather he was to his family; and the servant he was to the Lord.
The past recent times we have been in Oregon he has been in a lot of pain with ALS, yet was always reading God's word. The Bible was always out in front of his chair and he was anxious to discuss his Bible Timeline with Ryan even when it was hard for him to speak. In his darkest hours he took comfort in the words of the scripture and still wanted to know more. We love you Grandpa!
'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to take him at his word
Just to rest upon His promise
And to know, "Thus saith the Lord"

I'm so glad I learned to trust Him
Precious Jesus, Savior, friend
and I know that Thou art with me
Wilt be with me to the end

Jesus, Jesus how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh for grace to trust him more!
Carrie wrote a beautiful post a few days ago in honor of Grandpa and Grandma's 61st wedding anniversary. It can be read here

Ryan's family has been planning to participate in the Walk to Defeat ALS in Oregon this month. If you would like to donate money to their family's team you can go here to their web page. The money goes to families caring for people with this disease and for research to find a treatment and cure.

Thank you Katie. We'll miss him more than words can tell. He truly was an amazing man and his love for his Lord is what got him through till the end. This Saturday would have been the ALS walk but instead we will be having Daddys memorial service on that day. We love you guys. Mom aka Gma
