Easter Party 2013

I remember at the end of last year's post I declared this year's party would be big and better and it was!! (Last year we already had lots of grass in our backyard too, but no such luck this year!) I was really hoping the weather would cooperate so we could be outside for most of the day, but it was way too windy, so we saw just how many kids and mommies we could fit in our house and it might've been a tight squeeze but it sure was fun! (Unless you are a claustrophobic and then it was probably you're worst nightmare.) Here's tons of pics to remember the fun!
There was lots of yummy food and two crafts for the kids to do while we waited for everyone to arrive.
Doesn't get much more awesome than this photo of me and Liv in the OK wind!
Then we gathered the kids in 2 groups to read the story of the Easter and make resurrection rolls. The marshmallows represented Jesus' body that was laid in the tomb (AKA crescent roll) Then when you bake them and look inside....his body is gone! He has risen! (Or as Ben said, "No he melted!") It actually went better than I anticipated and the kids loved to make them...and eat them!
Kati sang songs with the kids while a few of us hid the eggs in the back yard.
Then we tried for a group photo before the hunt. So many cute faces! But of course they never can all look at the same time ;)
Then it was time to find those eggs!!
And then it was time to cut into that bunny cake! Look at Liv shoving it in her mouth! (And no it is not a paleo cake....maybe I'll tackle that next year.)
Then as people started to leave, the party died down, the kids were over their sugar rush, so some of them curled up to watch a movie while we moms chatted...and cleaned.
It was a wonderful day and I look forward to next year's....but I won't vow to make it any bigger unless we are in a bigger house! ;)
